PRO/UAW is the Union chosen by a majority of the 6,000 Postdoctoral Researchers at the University of California. Through the Union we bargain collectively for improvements in wages, hours, benefits, and terms and conditions of employment. The consistent support and participation of a majority of Postdocs has been key to the formation and growth of our Union. Our elected Bargaining Committee is now negotiating for a historic first contract with UC, based on the thousands of bargaining surveys we filled out and the bargaining proposals we voted to ratify. Once our Bargaining Committee reaches agreement with UC, Postdocs will then have an opportunity to democratically approve the agreement before it becomes a binding, enforceable contract.
